How to set up an outdoor badminton set

Posted on October 23rd, 2009 in Sports

When setting up an outdoor badminton set, you must first decide if you want to play singles or doubles. You then need to measure the court. If playing singles, you will need to measure 17 X 44 feet. A double’s court measures 44 X 20 feet. Boundaries can be set using items such as cones or rocks, or they may be painted or chalked out. Locate the center of the court and assemble the net that came with your outdoor badminton set. For an outdoor court, you will need to stick the poles in the ground. You will then need to tie the net to the poles. The net should measure 5 feet off the ground in the center and a bit higher by the posts. While these are regulatory measurements for a badminton court, if children are playing, the net may need to be set at a lower height. For the competitive player, proper equipment is essential.
